I
consider myselft a 3D Generalist with a focus on Lighting. My
experience equates to five years of commercial freelance production
for clients, mostly product oriented, with one film oriented
project outlined on my demo reel. Over those four years, I have
independently done work for Liquitex Paint, Coca Cola Inc., Shoe
Box Pictures, Colgate, and AESC Manhattan. These jobs included
negotiating, modeling,
texturing, lighting, rendering, and compositing, through to delivering
to the client's satisfaction, on time and within budget. I have
a generalist skill set and am currently focusing on the area
of lighting and photo-realism.
In
addition to freelancing, over the last four years I had the
great privilege of teaching 3D and graphic design. I taught
classes in Lightwave 3D, XSI 4, Photoshop, Illustrator, Graphic
Design, and even an Introduction to Computers class. Prior
to that I was a multimedia and marketing project manager for
Telcordia Technologies, Inc., a rather large and reputable
telecommunications software and services vendor. I developed
collateral as well as farmed out work to other vendors and
oversaw the production of many marketing campaigns.
I am equally
comfortable with Lightwave, XSI, and Maya, and am versed in
XP, Linux, and OSX operating systems. Software to me is less
important than concept, as I find most applications to be very
similar, except Houdini, which is in a class by itself.
I am currently
employed on a full time contract as a 3D Generalist/Artist using Maya and Shake in Los Angeles.
